I'm happy Villareal made it through, I love to watch them play. Giuseppi Rossi is sick, I wish he were playing for the United States. I think Villareal can be the surprise team, they have the talent and are not on anyone's radar. Bayern Munich spanked Lisbon 7-1.. glad to see that I hate Chops. I can't believe we let Rossi go. Fergie was looking for a finisher at the time, and we let Rossi go. Huge mistake in my books. Same goes for letting Pique go to Barca but what can you do? And yeah, you got your asses handed to you by Liverpool. They were playing on another level last night. Heinze still wants to be a Liverpool player by the way, and it shows!

Meh, I think Pique has alot to prove.. but Pique always wanted to return to Barca, I mean he is from Barcelona to begin with. If anything Barcelona let him go to Arsenal but they eventually got him back. Liverpool just always seems to play on another level in Champions League, they do it year after year and no one gives them credit.

We signed him from Barca's youth team if I remember correctly, and he played well for us but would never be able to break the Vidic-Ferdinand duo in the near future. Pique was seen as a replacement for Rio when he gets older, but Pique wanted first team football, and he wanted to go back to Barca after we loaned him to Barca, and fair enough. But if we kept him, he and Johnny Evans would've been our future central defensive partnership and would've been a fantastic duo. Although young, both Evans and Pique have proven with us that they can play at the highest level already, and will only get better. I hate that we let Pique go. Rossi showed signs of promise too, when he was with us in his early year. Fergie has a good eye for young talent, but had to let him go when again, he couldn't give him first team football ahead of Tevez and Rooney. We still have some good youngsters (Evans, Nani, Anderson, Welbeck, Gibson, Rafael and Fabio Da Silva...) not to forget that Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo are still very young too, so I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. But I still wish we had kept Pique and Rossi. Liverpool are a weird team. They can't do well in the Premier League but they can do well in Europe. So weird.

Sevilla and Villareal are like that in La Liga too. They struggle during the season but they do well in Europe, it's weird.

not that it's any consolation but the European press is agreeing with my sentiment that the first 2 Liverpool goals were illegal.

Yeah it doesn't matter really. They dominated the entire game and could've score many more goals.

Many people still think Buffon and Cech are better than Casillas, while I do think Casillas has many faults(his positioning at times is awful) he seems to be getting better and better every year and to think he hasn't even reached the "prime" goalkeepr age of early 30's, hell he's still in his late 20s.

You know, I actually think Casillas makes his saves look better than they are at times, as he's quite "acrobatic" if that's the right word to describe him. But, having said that, I still think he's better than Buffon and Cech and would say he's the best keeper in the world. Like you say, he's still young too and should get better. I think Cech's lost a bit of his touch this season and I haven't seen much of Buffon, but I still think Iker's better.

Haha, no I totally agree which is why I think his positiong at times is awful because he makes an unnecessary acrobatic dive from time to time, but still it's that ability to pull those acrobatic leaps that allow him to save alot of plays. That save on Mascherano shot was so sick
